New in the Market: The Gilded Nut Flavored Pistachios

We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become  staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

Today we recognize that nuts added to a healthy diet can have powerful health benefits. The key with nut consumption is to keep the portion size to a handful not a canful.

Pistachios offer multiple health benefits in addition to being a tasty snack.

Diets with 1 to 2 servings of pistachios daily can reduce blood pressure.

Eating pistachios in the shell offers a person a good indicator of how much they
have eaten because seeing the pile of discarded shells actually helps you to eat
less.

Pistachios are high in the antioxidants lutein (needed for healthy vision and skin),
beta-carotene (which converts to vitamin A), and gamma-tocopherol (a form of
vitamin E).

PhotosfromP+W-SeaSalt+PepperBox-300The Gilded Nut makes interesting in-shell, flavored pistachios snacks by tumbling the nuts in extra virgin olive oil and different herbs and spices. One serving, 1-ounce of shelled nuts (equaling 49 nuts) has 160 calories. The nuts are scoured from California and have no added flavors, colors or preservatives. Each variety is simply pistachios, olive oil, and herbs and spices. The varieties are numbered.
No. 1 Original Blend – with a savory, garlicky, smoky taste.
No. 2 Mediterranean Herb – pepper free with garlic and green herbs.
No. 3 Habanero Heat – If you like foods with heat this is the flavor for you.
No. 4 Salt + Pepper – The taste is as simple as it sounds.
