One Ounce A Day

One ounce equals 23 almonds and 160 calories. This snack not only offers a lot of chewing and flavor while packing a healthy nutrition punch as well.

Good things do come in small packages. An ounce of almonds provides 6 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber, and heart healthy monounsaturated fats. In addition, this one-ounce snack gives you 50% of your daily need for vitamin E, along with 25% of your daily need for the mineral magnesium and 20% of the B vitamin riboflavin. And if that isn’t enough, an ounce of almonds offers some potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron and niacin in an additive-free, whole food, snack. Almonds are hard to beat and healthier and less expensive than a protein bar, bag of chips, or candy.
