limeandpepperv8-300We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think

As the good-for-you drink category continues to expand, V8, a long-established, healthy, vegetable juice drink, is adding new flavors – Original Hint Of Lime and Original Hint of Black Pepper. Both are exactly that, a hint of a new taste. Lime is subtle and Black Pepper has a mild kick.

Though I am a big advocate of eating fresh vegetables, V8 is a better alternative for soda or other presweetened drinks. A serving provides 2 servings of vegetables. V8 juice is made up of a blend of 8 different vegetables.

An 8-ounce serving of either flavor has 50 calories, no fat, cholesterol or trans fat, 40% (2000 IUs) of your daily vitamin A, 120% (72 milligrams) of your daily vitamin C requirement, 440 milligrams of potassium, 470 milligrams of sodium and 2 grams of fiber. It is recommended that the juice be refrigerated after opening and drank within 14 days. It is kosher certified (OU).
