Climatarian Eating

According to Go Climatarian, 24% of global greenhouse gas emissions come from the food we eat. They urge us to fight climate change with diet change. A climatarian diet encourages people to make food choices based on the environmental impact of the food and/or its carbon footprint. The diet focuses on reducing animal foods and moving toward more plant-based selections. It suggests people eat more locally grown and seasonal foods, avoiding food flown-in, food grown in heated greenhouses, and highly packaged foods. Climatarians also advocate composting and avoiding food waste.

There are no strict rules about foods that are forbidden. This type of eating urges people to join a global network of like-minded individuals who adjust their food choices based on the environmental impact.
