We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

Andrew&Everett (Udderly The Best! Natural Cheese & Hormone Free Cheese | Andrew & Everett) makes cheese sourced from free range, grass fed cows that come from small farms in the US. The brand prides itself on using milk from cows that are not injected with rBGH-BST growth hormones and the herds are fed no animal by-products. If and when a cow may need to be treated with antibiotics, they are removed from the herd and the milk is not used for Andrew&Everett products.

Andrew&Everett produces a full line of cheese items. We tasted four.

American Cheese Thin Sliced comes in a 7-ounce resealable package. One slice (0.7 ounce) has 80 calories, 6 grams of fat, 5 grams of protein, a trace of carb, 25 milligrams of potassium, 280 milligrams of sodium, and 124 milligrams of calcium. Though we are not big fans of American cheese, this product was excellent. It offered a rich cheese flavor and texture, not waxy, and melted beautifully in toasted cheese sandwiches.

The brand has recently introduced Rustic Thick Cut Shredded Cheese, available in 8-ounce resealable bags, holding approximately 2 cups of cheese. We tasted the 3 flavors available:

Fiesta Blend a mixture of Monterey jack, cheddar, queso quesadilla and asadero cheeses has 110 calories in a ¼ cup serving (1 ounce) with 9 grams of fat, 7 grams of protein, 1 gram of carb, 199 milligrams of calcium, 20 milligrams of potassium, and 180 milligrams of sodium.

Mozzarella has 80 calories in a ¼ cup serving (1 ounce) with 6 grams of fat, 7 grams of protein, 2 grams of carb, 198 milligrams of calcium, 55 milligrams of potassium, and 190 milligrams of sodium.

Sharp White Cheddar cheese has 110 calories in a ¼ cup serving (1 ounce) with 9 grams of fat, 7 grams of protein, no carb, 204 milligrams of calcium, 20 milligrams of potassium, and 180 milligrams of sodium.

Each of these varieties was excellent and the larger shreds seems of give the flavor a more robust taste and made melting creamier.

All Andrew&Everett cheese is produced in gluten free facilities and though the samples we tasted were not certified kosher, they were made with non-animal rennet.

This is a brand worth trying.
