New in the Market: Good Dee’s Low Carb Baking Mixes and Sugar Free Maple Syrup

We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

Good Dee’s makes mixes which are free of gluten, soy, wheat and added sugar. We tasted three Good Dee’s products.

Chocolate Brownie Low Carb Baking Mix was enjoyed by our youngest tasters, producing a fudgy brownie that is based in tapioca and sunflower seed flour. The brownies did not rise as much as a traditional flour-based brownie but the taste and texture were good.

Pancakes Low Carb Baking Mix is based in almond flour and makes 20 pancakes.

Both mixes are sweetened with erythritol and stevia, sugar substitutes with zero calories, instead of sugar. The mixes are produced in a dedicated gluten free facility. Maple Syrup Sugar Free is sweetened with allulose, a new sugar alternative that just received FDS approval in 2019. A 1 tablespoon serving has 10 calories.
