What Is a Certified B Corporation?

Today, close to 4,000 brands – Ben & Jerry’s, Cabot, Stonyfield Organic – are displaying the Certified B Corporation seal. What does that mean?

B Corps are companies dedicated to using their business as a force for good. Simply put these businesses balance purpose and profit. B Corp companies are required to consider the impact of their business decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, the community, and the environment. Examples of how a business is a force for good would be to pay all employees a fair wage, participate in charitable giving, provide vacation and parental leave policies, or design recyclable packaging for the brand. To obtain a B Corp Certification a company’s entire social and environmental performance is measured. Both domestic and global companies use the Certified B Corporation seal and participating companies can be found on the B Corp directory.
