We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

Chum Fruit Bites, based in Ireland, made their debut into the US snack market in the fall of 2019. Chum is a 100% fruit-based snack that is naturally sweet and easy to chew. The Bites contain no artificial ingredients, added sugars or colors.

Chum Fruit Bites come in five flavors in 0.7-ounce single-serve packages. We tasted four.

Apple – made of apples and pears has 39 calories, no fat or protein, 2 grams of fiber, 8 grams of natural sugar, 117 milligrams of potassium and no sodium.

Berry – made of apples, pears and blackberries has 42 calories, no fat, 1 gram of protein, 2 grams of fiber, 8 grams of natural sugar, 138 milligrams of potassium and no sodium.

Peach – made of apples, pears and peaches has 42 calories, no fat, 1 gram of protein, 2 grams of fiber, 8 grams of natural sugar, 138 milligrams of potassium and no sodium.

Strawberry – made of apples, pears and strawberries has 40 calories, no fat, 1 gram of protein, 2 grams of fiber, 8 grams of natural sugar, 148 milligrams of potassium and no sodium.

Our young tasters enjoyed Chum Fruit Bites and voted Strawberry their favorite.

Chum Fruit Bites are sourced from South Africa, kosher (OU), NonGMO Project Verified, and vegan.

Each package of Fruit Bites features an endangered animal on the label and the brand donates 15% of their profits to WildAid a nonprofit organization whose mission is to end illegal wildlife trade.
