New in the Market: Spinato’s Handcrafted Pizza Ona Broccoli Crust

Spinato’s has been a popular restaurant pizza chain in Arizona. The brand has recently introduced a broccoli-crust frozen pizza. Instead of relying on the popular cauliflower crust, Spinato’s has branched out to create four different, 10-inch, broccoli crust frozen pies that are certified gluten-free.

Each pizza provided 3 servings. Our tasters enjoyed all of the four varieties available.

Aged Asiago, Romano & Mozzarella– has 290 calories per serving, 12 grams of protein, 13 grams of fat, 233 milligrams of potassium, 710 milligrams of sodium and 356 milligrams of calcium.

Margherita – with slow-roasted tomatoes has 240 calories per serving, 10 grams of protein, 11 grams of fat, 230 milligrams of potassium, 570 milligrams of sodium and 281 milligrams of calcium.

Supreme – with chicken sausage, feta, red onion, kalamata olives, and green pepper has 270 calories per serving, 13 grams of protein, 13 grams of fat, 208 milligrams of potassium, 660 milligrams of sodium and 255 milligrams of calcium.

Primavera – with zucchini, red onion, mushroom and red peppers has 250 calories per serving, 10 grams of protein, 11 grams of fat, 244 milligrams of potassium, 660 milligrams of sodium and 284 milligrams of calcium.

The pies cook in 12 to 14 minutes in a conventional oven but the brand also provides cooking times and temperatures for convection ovens, toaster ovens and the barbeque grill. We would recommend slightly oiling or using nonstick cooking spray on the baking pans since some of our samples stuck to the pan.
