Oh Snap Pickles

We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

Oh Snap! is a line of pickles and pickled veggies in single serving packages. The concept is an on-the-go snack of a healthy vegetable.

Oh Snap! comes in 8 varieties – 4 different pickles and 4 veggies. All need to be refrigerated but can be held without refrigeration for a few hours and they will still maintain their crunchy bite. We tasted three Oh Snap! varieties.

Hottie Bites are hot and spicy pickle cuts which come in a 3.5 ounce bag. One serving is considered 3 pickle pieces or 1 ounce with no calories, fat, protein or carb, and 320 milligrams of sodium. If you like heat this variety is for you.

Carrot Cuties are pickled carrot sticks which come in a 2.25 ounce bag. One serving is considered 3 carrot sticks or 1 ounce with 15 calories, no fat or protein, 3 grams of carb, and 280 milligrams of sodium.

Pretty Peas are pickled snap peas which come in a 1.75 ounce bag. One serving is considered 5 pieces or 1 ounce with 10 calories, no fat or protein, 2 grams of carb, and 220 milligrams of sodium. These were our favorites.

Where are you getting your numbers? I have 2 of the varieties you mentioned that you tried in front of me and the numbers on the package are way off from your. The Pretty Peas which are also my favorite come in a 1.5 oz bag which is 1 serving with 20 calories, 4 grams of carbs and a whopping 600 mg of sodium! The Carrot Cuties are in a 2.25 oz bag which is also 1 serving with 20 calories, 4 grams of carbs and also a blood pressure boosting 600 mgs of sodium. The sodium numbers are ridiculously different. Do you have any idea of how that happened? As far as the product, I thought I’d found a new favorite when I read you post and they taste great but once I read the package I was finished.

Hi Elberg,
In 2020 new nutrition labeling requirements went into effect. Note that this review was done in 2019. Also note that at that time a brand could designate a serving as less than a full package size. You can see in the review above one serving of Pretty Peas are 5 pieces (less than the full package). If you double the numbers they come very close to those you currently report. Brands also reformulate on a regular basis, especially when a brand is new and just introduced. That may account for the change in values over the last year. That is one of the reasons that we always provide a direct link to a brand so our readers can connect with the most current information when they link to a previous feature. Hope this is helpful. Always happy to answer questions.
