New in the Market: Crazy Richard’s Peanut Butter

We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

Kimmi Wernli grew up working in her family-owned Crazy Richard’s Peanut Butter Company. When her Dad retired she took over the reins of the company as President.

Crazy Richard’s peanut butter has only one ingredient – peanuts. For this reason, the texture of the peanut butter is creamier and thinner than most you have eaten. The taste is excellent. It is natural for the peanut oil to separate from the solids. To keep the oil mixed, the company suggest flipping the jar over when stored in the cupboard. If you prefer a thicker consistency, store in the refrigerator.

We tasted both Creamy and Crunchy (our favorite). A 2 tablespoon serving of either variety has 190 calories, 16 grams of fat, 7 grams of carb (3 of which are fiber plus 2 grams of natural sugar), 8 grams of protein, and no sodium.

The peanuts used in Crazy Richard’s are sourced from the US and it is kosher certified (OU).

Recommendations for introducing peanuts and peanut products to young children have recently changed. Experts now recommend early, slow introduction which appears to reduce the number of peanut allergies. Crazy Richard’s supports these newer recommendations and provides information for parents on their website.
