We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

The Better Bean Company, a father and daughter founded brand, offers 15-ounce chilled deli tubs of cooked beans. All eight varieties of Better Beans are NonGMO Project Verified, gluten free, soy free and vegan. This is a unique idea to deliver cooked beans. Each variety is already sautéed in olive oil with added ingredients so that they can be used without any additions as a side dish, dip, and spread or to make tacos, quesadillas or burritos. The brand’s website offers many recipe ideas to kick-start your imagination to use the beans. Kept refrigerated and unopened, Better Beans have an 8 week use-by date. Opened they should be used in 3 days. We tasted 6 of the 8 varieties. Each tub was a mix of whole and pureed beans and the tastes were excellent. A serving is a ½ cup.
