Hudson Valley Cold Pressed Oils founded in 2014, with a registered dietitian in the family, produces products made from sunflowers locally grown on farms in New York’s Hudson Valley. Cold pressed sunflower oil is produced by pressing and grinding sunflower seeds between heavy granite millstones or stainless-steel presses. The temperature in pressing never exceeds 120 degrees F which helps to maintain the seeds natural nutty flavor, aroma, golden color and nutritional value.
Sunflower oil is naturally high in vitamin E and heart healthy monounsaturated fats. The oil can be heated to reasonably high temperatures before smoking so it is ideal for sautéing, deep frying and baking. The natural neutral flavor of sunflower oil makes it a good choice for salad dressings, too.

Sunflower Flour is a high protein, gluten-free flour that can be used to substitute for almond flour in recipes. Hudson Valley provides recipes on the website to provide ideas for using sunflower flour. One cup has 210 calories, 1 gram of fat, 23 grams of carb (with no added sugar and 3 grams of fiber), 31 grams of protein, no sodium, and 43 milligrams of potassium. It is kosher certified (NFC Apple K), NonGMO Project Verified and displays the Gluten Guard seal.
