We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.
Andean Dream produces quinoa-based pastas and cookies. The Organic Royal Quinoa variety used is sourced from Bolivian Andes indigenous farming families who have become the exclusive supplier for the brand. The pastas and cookies are manufactured in Bolivia in a dedicated gluten, dairy, egg, soy, corn and nut free facility.
Andean Dream Quinoa Cookies come in four flavors. The cookies are individually wrapped in recyclable, food-grade mylar so they stay fresh and are portable once the package is opened.
We tried Chocolate Chip. Two cookies have 140 calories and 60 milligrams of sodium.
Andean Dream Organic Pasta comes in seven shapes. We tried Organic Spaghetti. The only ingredients are organic white rice flour and Organic Royal Quinoa flour. The spaghetti cooked in 14 to 16 minutes, depending on the firmness you desire. Its appearance was more transparent and glassy than traditional wheat pasta, but our tasters thought the flavor was very good. A 2-ounce cooked serving has 207 calories, 1 grams of fat, 6 grams of protein, 42 grams of carb, 3 grams of fiber and no sodium.
Both the pasta and cookies are USDA Organic and Andean Dream is a member of the Fair Trade Association.
