When we received information on Fairlife Ultra-Filtered Milk, our first thought was milk is milk. What could be so special? Well, we were wrong. Fairlife is by far the creamiest, best-tasting milk we’ve ever had that can be bought in a supermarket.
Fairlife was founded by a husband (veterinarian) and wife team who are committed to environmentally sound farming with transparency from grass to glass. They grow their own crops that are turned into feed for their cows. They have their own fleet of tanker trucks which moves the milk to their bottling facility where the milk is ultra-filtered and bottled. At their flagship farm in Fair Oaks, Indiana, cow manure is converted into methane to power dairies and turned into Compressed Natural Gas to fuel tractor trailer trucks.
The filtration system employed by Fairlife is like the process used to filter water. It concentrates the natural protein and calcium found in milk, reduces the sugar and produces a lactose free beverage.
We tasted their four traditional milk products. All are lactose free and kosher certified (OU).
Whole milk has 150 calories in 8-ounces, 8 grams of fat, 13 grams of protein, 6 grams of carb, 400 milligrams of calcium,120 milligrams of sodium and 400 milligrams of potassium. If you enjoy cream in your coffee, this whole milk can easily substitute.
2% Reduced Fat milk has 120 calories in 8-ounces, 4.5 grams of fat, 13 grams of protein, 6 grams of carb, 400 milligrams of calcium, 120 milligrams of sodium and 400 milligrams of potassium.
1% Reduced Fat milk has 100 calories in 8-ounces, 2.5 grams of fat, 13 grams of protein, 6 grams of carb, 400 milligrams of calcium, 120 milligrams of sodium and 400 milligrams of potassium.
Fat Free milk has 80 calories in 8-ounces, no fat, 13 grams of protein, 6 grams of carb, 400 milligrams of calcium, 120 milligrams of sodium and 400 milligrams of potassium.
Chocolate 2% Reduced Fat milk has 140 calories in 8-ounces, 4.5 grams of fat, 13 grams of protein, 13 grams of carb, 400 milligrams of calcium, 280 milligrams of sodium and 550 milligrams of potassium.
One cup of any variety of Fairlife milk is also an excellent source of vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin B12, riboflavin and phosphorus and a good source of zinc.
This is a brand worth trying.

It would be nice if you made a dialysis friendly version- filter out a bunch of the potassium. We can bind the phosphorus binders at meal time. Patients would be thrilled to be able to enjoy a big glass of milk. The general limit is 4 oz daily…. or as 2 of my patients have said “that’s just enough to piss me off.”
I absolutely agree! That’s how I came across this page, trying to find out about phosphorus and potassium in the Fairlife milk!
I’m a dialysis patient and would like to know the levels of phosphorus and potassium is in Fairllite milk.
I love milk but can only have a few ounces per day.
Because of the restrictions I just decided to no drink milk.
