We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.
Chris Cates, MD, a cardiologist and his son Andrew, a vineyard owner, founded the Wine RayZyn Company in Napa Valley, California. RayZyns are not your typical moist, seedless raisins. They are dried wine raisins with stems and seeds intact, which are toasted and carmelized during the drying process, making RayZyns a crunchy snack. Wine grapes have many of the same powerful antioxidants found in wine.
RayZyns come in three varieties – CabernayZyn (Cabernet Sauvignon wine grapes), MerlayZyn (Merlot wine grapes) and CardonaZyn (Chardonnay wine grapes). A one-third cup serving of any variety has 140 calories, no fat, 32 grams of carb (5 of which are fiber plus 22 grams of natural sugar), 2 grams of protein and 5 milligrams of sodium.
