We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

TRU Chocolate created dark chocolate snacks that contain no added sugar, are gluten free, nonGMO, vegan and kosher (OU) with Fair Trade Certified Ingredients. TRU uses no fillers, waxes or preservatives and sweetens the chocolate with xylitol.

Xylitol is a naturally occurring sugar alcohol found in fruits, vegetables and hardwoods. TRU sources the xylitol they use from US birch trees. It is safe for use by those with diabetes because it is a slowly absorbed complex carb that has only 2.4 calories per gram in contrast to sugar which has 4 calories per gram.

TRU makes four chocolate snacks.

Dark Chocolate Covered Gluten Free Pretzels – 1 serving equals 16 pieces with 160 calories, 11 grams of fat, 16 grams of carb (2 grams of fiber, no sugar and 5 grams of xylitol), 135 milligrams of sodium and 135 milligrams of potassium.
