Tonnino Tuna sourced from Costa Rica offers wild caught, dolphin-safe, yellowfin tuna fillets hand-packed in glass jars (6.7 ounce). The tuna fillets can not only be used in a traditional tuna salad but the large pieces make it ideal to top a salad, pasta dish, pizza, to use in a sandwich or to make canapes. Eight varieties are available. We tasted two.

Tuna Fillets With Capers and Garlic In Olive Oil offers a pleasant Mediterranean taste to the tuna fillets. A 2 ounce serving has 100 calories, 3.5 grams of fat, 14 grams of protein, no carb and 240 milligrams of sodium.
Tonnino recently added canned tuna to its line in flip-top cans (4.94-ounce). Two varieties are available and we tasted both. The look and texture of the canned varieties were more like traditional tuna brands but the taste was excellent and there was no fishy smell when the flip-tops were opened.

Because yellowfin tunafish are younger and smaller than larger varieties of tuna, such as albacore, Tonnino tuna is lower in mercury. The canned varieties state less than 0.5 ppm (parts per million) on the label.
