We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.
NewVikis-300Viki’s Granola was inspired by a mom who was baking a batch of homemade granola for a school fund raiser. The brand is NonGMO Project Verified , Certified Gluten-Free, and kosher certified (OK). The flavors are available in 12-ounce or 1.5 ounce grab-and-go bags which are perfect for snacking or as a lunchbox treats.
Viki’s Granola is available in 5 flavors. Each one is excellent and all are sodium free.
Original Honey: ¼ cup has 150 calories, 4 grams of sugar and 2 grams of fiber.
Blueberry Almond: ¼ cup has 150 calories, 4 grams of sugar and 3 grams of fiber.
Maple Cranberry: ¼ cup has 160 calories, 5 grams of sugar and 3 grams of fiber.

Viki’s Granola can be used on all the traditional ways granola is eaten but the company also suggests stretching your creativity and substituting the granola for breadcrumbs on chicken, using it to stuff the core of a baked apple, tossing some into a muffin or pancake recipe, or using a sprinkle over a salad. This brand is worth a try.
Barbara’s was founded in the 1970s when the first generation of foodies was looking for more natural, less processed food. Today, Barbara’s continues that commitment and they have just released a line of lower-sugar cereals. All are whole grain, NonGMO Project Verified and kosher certified (OU). When you read the ingredient list for any Barbara’s products all terms that might be unfamiliar are defined, example: sodium phosphate (leavening agent) or ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Going this extra step provides transparency and gives you confidence about the ingredients in the food you are buying.
