We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become
staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

A recent study published in the Journal of Clinical Lipidology showed that corn oil was more effective in lowering total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol than when the subjects were fed the same foods made with extra virgin olive oil. A limitation of the study is that there were only 54 subjects. But, even with the small sample size, it shows that corn oil can be another choice to replace some of the saturated fat in your diet.
Mazola Corn Oil has 120 calories in 1 tablespoon with 14 grams of fat (2 of which are saturated, 8 grams polyunsaturated and 4 grams monounsaturated). It is a plant-based fat so there is no cholesterol. Mazola Corn Oil is kosher certified (OU).
