We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

Minute Rice came on the market in the 1940s making rice quick and easy to prepare. It was a very simple twist on a convenient food. The rice was cooked and dried, shortening its cooking time down to minutes. Over the years the brand has added many innovations to the original Minute Rice.

Minute Ready-to-Serve Rice Cups are one such innovation – shelf-stable and packaged in two single-serve cups with no preservatives. One serving can be heated in the microwave in the brand’s signature one minute. They are a quick solution for one or two people and can even be eaten unheated as the base for a cold meal or salad.

We tasted 8 of the 16 varieties available. One serving equals one container or one cup.
