We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

For a late summer barbecue both these brands will satisfy anyone on your guest list.

True Story makes deli meats, sausages, hot dogs, and fresh pork products. As one of our tasters said, “This brand makes really good meat.” And, they do.

True Story partners with farmers in the US and Canada who are committed to good farming practices. All animals are raised humanely, without antibiotics, and fed non-GMO, all-vegetarian diets. All products are certified USDA Organic and contain no fillers or preservatives.

We tasted three products. All of which were fully cooked and just required reheating. All were excellent and got thumbs up from our tasters.

Organic Grass-Fed Uncured Beef Hot Dogs come 5 to a package. One hot dog (2 ounces) has 130 calories, 10 grams of fat, 9 grams of protein, 1 gram of carb, and 310 milligrams of sodium.

Organic Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage come 4 to a package. One sausage (2.5 ounces) has 150 calories, 8 grams of fat, 11 grams of protein, no carb, and 480 milligrams of sodium.

Organic Thick Cut Oven Roasted Chicken Breast comes in a 6-ounce package. One serving equals 2 ounces and has 80 calories, 2 grams of fat, 15 grams of protein, no carb, and 110 milligrams of sodium.

Respect is trying to change the way people think about frozen burgers. They should be successful because this brand is excellent. Respect offers two varieties of burgers.

Wagyu Burgers are made from cows registered with the American Wagyu Association, vegetarian fed, and raised in the Midwest. Wagyu beef consistently grades prime due to it natural marbling which introduced fat between the meat fibers that melts during cooking. This gives the beef a juicy, buttery flavor. Our meat-eating tasters declared these burgers delicious. Three, 5-ounce, uncooked burgers come in each package. One burger has 440 calories, 37 grams of fat, 27 grams of protein, no carb and 80 milligrams of sodium.

Turkey Burgers contain simply turkey, sea salt and ground rosemary. Six, 4-ounce, uncooked burgers are in each package. One burger has 160 calories, 9 grams of fat, 20 grams of protein, no carb and 280 milligrams of sodium.
