New in the Market: Folios Cheese Wraps

We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

Folios Cheese Wraps are fun! They are lightly baked sheets of cheese, 4 to a package, separated by parchment paper. Folios are made simply of cheese and are lactose and gluten free.

This product is unique because of its versatility. You can simply roll the cheese sheet around another food and eat it right from the package. We used them to make ham and cheese wraps for a school lunch. You can melt the cheese sheet over eggs for an instant cheese omelet. Folios melt quickly. Or you can become more creative and crisp the cheese sheets into shapes. This can be done in the oven or microwave and directions are on the package. You can roll them around sandwich or salad fixings and eat a high protein, low carb sandwich. We shaped them into baskets and served them as edible salad bowls – a really big hit with our tasters. We used them to hold tacos fixings. Or cool the crisp sheets and break them into pieces to garnish a salad.

Folios come in three flavors. Each cheese sheet is 1.5 ounces.

Cheddar: 160 calories, 11 grams of protein, 13 grams of fat, 1 gram of carb, 350 milligrams of calcium and 330 milligrams of sodium.

Jarlsberg: 150 calories, 13 grams of protein, 11 grams of fat, 1 gram of carb, 382 milligrams of calcium and 220 milligrams of sodium.

Parmesan: 180 calories, 13 grams of protein, 13 grams of fat, 1 gram of carb, 370 milligrams of calcium and 390 milligrams of sodium.

You will have fun with Folios and they are worth a try.
