Four Ways to Be A Smarter Shopper

Buy fresh, unprocessed foods whenever you can. The more a food is processed the more likely it will be higher in salt, sugar and fat.

Make label reading a habit. You will be amazed at what you will learn.

Don’t let sugar fool you. It comes by many names – dextrose, fruit juice concentrate, cane syrup, honey, fructose, brown rice syrup, date syrup and agave syrup just to name a few.

Buy nuts in the shell. They will stay fresher longer and it will take you longer to eat them which slows down eating and helps you save calories.
