We love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.
Pu-erhBordeaux-300My first impression of Rishi Tea was what beautiful packaging. Not only are the boxes attractive but each provides information about the tea — ingredients, brewing guide, and caffeine level along with the tea’s source, cultivator and harvest season. For those who desire brand transparency Rishi fits the bill. Next I was taken by the breath of flavors available.
Green tea: Jade Cloud, Jasmine Green, Tropical Green, Sencha, Green Tea Mint, and Macha Super Green
Black tea: English Breakfast, Masala Chai, Earl Grey, Pu-erh Bordeaux, and Chocolate Cinnamon
White tea: Peach Nectar
Herbal tea: Blueberry Hibiscus, Turmeric Ginger, Chamomile Medley, and Pacific Peppermint
All flavors are certified USDA Organic and packaged in a triangular mesh teabag to allow for better infusion.
OlbasHerbalTea-3005Olbas Instant Herbal Tea is a very interesting product. It is a blend of 20 herbs, oils and grape sugar. The tea is packaged in a 7-ounce container and when opened the instant tea looks like tiny, cylindrical pellets which dissolve instantly in hot water. The tea has a lovely aromatic smell and a mild flavor. Olbas recommends a teaspoon of tea per cup. We found an amply rounded teaspoonful of tea provided the best taste. One serving, 1 teaspoon, has 12 calories, 3 grams of sugar and no sodium or potassium. It is sourced from Switzerland.
