New in the Market: Jamba Juice Smoothies

We love to try new foods. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in our kitchen. See what you think.

Many restaurant chains have extended their customer base by producing foods for the retail market. Jamba Juice has released frozen All Natural Smoothies mixers in the Jamba brand’s most popular flavors: Razzamatazz, Mango-a-go-go, and Strawberries Wild. The smoothies contain real fruit, non-fat yogurt, and a full day’s supply of vitamin C. You simply add 8 ounces of apple juice (regular or light) to the package contents, blend for 60 seconds, and you have two servings of smoothie. The at-home mixes offer the same taste and consistency as those sold at the Jamba Juice restaurants.

The mixes contain no preservatives, no artificial flavors and they are fat free. A prepared 8-ounce serving of Strawberries Wild has 110 calories, Razzamatazz (a berry blend) has 110 calories, and Mango-a-go-go has 120 calories. None of the flavors are a significant source of sodium. If made with light apple juice the calorie count pre serving would be reduced by approximately 40 calories.

We tried all three flavors and thought they were excellent and worth a try.
